The Ugandan film industry is once again in celebration mode following the official release of the nomination list for the 13th edition of the Uganda Film Festival (UFF) 2026 on 17th April 2026. Organized by the Uganda Communications Commission, the festival continues to stand as the country’s most prestigious platform for recognizing excellence in film and television.

This year’s nominations mark a significant milestone, highlighting the growth, diversity, and creative depth of Uganda’s storytelling industry.

A Celebration of Ugandan Storytelling

Since its inception in 2013, the Uganda Film Festival has played a central role in promoting local content, nurturing talent, and connecting Ugandan filmmakers to global audiences.

The 2026 edition continues this legacy, with nominations spanning multiple categories including feature films, documentaries, short films, television series, animation, and regional productions.

The announcement of nominees signals the beginning of an exciting festival season that will include film screenings, industry workshops, and the highly anticipated awards gala.
