The excitement is officially building for Uganda’s first-ever Karakta Film Makeup, Costume Design & Hair Exhibition! On 27th March, industry professionals, media, and film enthusiasts gathered for the official press launch, marking the beginning of what promises to be a game-changing event for Uganda’s film and fashion industries.

Set to take place on May 24-25, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, the exhibition will celebrate the artistry behind costume design, character transformation, and storytelling in film.

A Platform for Creativity & Innovation

Speaking at the launch, Esther Nakaziba, founder and Executive producer, emphasized the importance of recognizing the creatives who bring characters to life on screen.

"Costumes and makeup are essential elements of storytelling. They shape how characters are perceived, set the tone of a film, and bring authenticity to every scene. With this exhibition, we aim to give costume designers, makeup artists, and filmmakers the recognition they deserve while inspiring the next generation of creatives in Uganda’s film industry."
